“Pentecore” is derived from the Ancient Greek Pentekonter, a versatile all-purpose merchant and war ship. Like its namesake, Pentecore’s goal is to help you be prepared to successfully navigate the rapidly changing environment leaders face today.
Barbara Hoese is President of Pentecore Coaching LLC, a leadership coaching and development firm. She leads workshops for leaders to increase their effectiveness, both professionally and personally, and works with nonprofit boards and executive leadership teams, focusing on mission and vision development, and culture integration. As a coach, she partners with executives to help them identify and lead from their strengths, while addressing critical developmental areas.
Her clients include the American Academy of Neurology, the University of Minnesota, University of Minnesota Foundation, the Mayo Clinic, Medtronic, TCF Bank and others. She designed and led workshops on "Finding Your Purpose" for the Community Makeover Project in conjunction with Blue Zones and AARP. She has worked throughout the U.S. and in Africa, Asia and Europe, and previously served as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Minnesota Carlson School’s Executive Development Center. Through her career, Barbara has worked with thousands of people to help them lead purposeful lives.
Having worked in the leadership and personal development field for more than 20 years, Barbara received her coaching certification from the Coach Training Institute (CTI), and holds a master’s degree in Business Communication from the University of St. Thomas where she was the recipient of the James S. Fish Scholarship for integrity in communication. She has served on the boards of several Minnesota nonprofits and, a native of Minnesota, she grew up on a dairy farm and enjoys exploring new places through traveling and reading.
