LEadership development programs

Pentecore Coaching works with organizations to develop inspiring and authentic learning experiences that help leaders realize their full potential. Our long-term leadership development programs and processes include:

 Emerging Leaders Forum

This nine-month program identifies, develops and launches candidates to take on significantly greater leadership roles within the organization. The program focuses on building leaders’ unique strengths and provides skills development in leading others, leading the organization and leading in the broader community.

Leadership Learning Lab

This two-month program brings together senior leaders to identify a major issue within the organization and, working in teams, learn the skills to lead change to resolve the issue. The lab also builds leaders’ skills to foster engagement and support across the organization.

One-day Leadership Experiences

If you are looking for a half- or full-day leadership retreat experience, Pentecore can provide a workshop that helps leaders stop, take stock of their strengths and commit to putting those strengths in action. Participants will learn how to build a reflective leadership practice grounded in their purpose

I’ve never seen anyone as good as you are at entering into a team meeting, diagnosing the problems, and not saying anything. Instead, you lead the group to come to their own recognition of the issue, brainstorm solutions, and own the actions necessary to move forward.

Board, Team & Organizational

Coaching

Developing your Nonprofit Board

Great nonprofit boards are aligned on vision and mission, and focus on engaging the gifts and talents of their board members. Whether you are looking for a facilitated board retreat to engage your board members, or help with demystifying the board’s role in fundraising, Pentecore can help you bring the best out of your board and its members.

Building Effective Teams

Research shows that less than ten percent of senior leadership teams would say they are highly effective. Pentecore uses a team coaching approach to help team members build the strategic unity necessary to be successful.

Strategic unity is the shared focus of the team on its mission, vision and strategy and the alignment of the core values and individual contributions of the team members.

Pentecore works with teams in three stages:

Assessment

In this stage, the team strengths and gaps, clarifying mission, vision and values are identified in order to determine the requirements for optimizing opportunities.

Alignment

The team creates a common language, building its capacity to embrace courageous conversations and to create accountability mechanisms that hold the team to its commitments.

Action

The team implements plans, creates checkpoints, adjusts course direction and celebrates successes.

I’d like to thank you for facilitating our class. I’m amazed how much better I feel and I think my people can see a definite change as well. In fact, I’m applying my skills to my home life as well, and my family has seen a positive change in the way I approach family life as well.

Building Healthy Cultures

Creating a Great Place to Work

“Culture eats strategy for breakfast.”

One of the most common concerns I hear from C-level leaders has to do with the overall health of their organization’s culture. Executing strategy effectively relies on engaged people: those who enjoy their work and the work environment.

For 20 years, Barbara has worked with a wide range of organizations to engage employees at all levels and to create a transparent, aligned work culture. Her facilitation of large group conversations gets people talking to one another about what inspires them, what they think makes a great organization and what needs to happen to make their organization a great place to work.

Each organization is unique, and Barbara will partner with you to create a process that fits your specific needs.

I’ve seen many people facilitate retreats, but Barbara is the best. She know when to let people talk, when to get everyone to refocus on the topic; and get the group to where they need to be at the end of the day. She has clear understanding of the organizations she works with but, and perhaps more important, an intuitive grasp of the individuals and group dynamics of the people she works with.
